Live Online Breath Work Course

Four Week Course: Daily Breath Work for a Balanced Life

22nd November – 13th December 2022

Join us for a series of breath work sessions with Dan Peppiatt to help curate a balanced life.

For anything to work it must become a natural part of our daily life. It’s all well and good doing a super intense practice now and then or once a week but unless we really integrate it into our lives it becomes nothing more than a sideline.

The same goes for breath work. Most people are naturally attracted to the super complex, super intense techniques, many of which we see becoming popular today – this is typical of the tendency of our minds to assume that benefit comes from complicated things.

Yet such techniques often had a specific purpose, whereas what most of us need is simply to know our own breath, know what it is telling us, to breathe well and breathe efficiently.

In this four week course we will start to integrate some of these tools into our daily life – becoming scientists of the breath and masters of breathing well.

Suitable for all abilities and experience

The one hour sessions will run every Tuesday at 7pm (GMT) for four weeks from 22nd November 2022.

The Schedule

Week 1: Know Thyself, Know thy Breath!

22nd November

It all begins here. If we don’t know what is going on then we cant possible do anything about it. But where do we start? We will explore:

  • Key tools for observing the breath
  • Visualising the breath and drawing the breath
  • What we are looking for and how symptoms of breath connect to symptoms of mental state

Week 2: “The Important Thing is to Never Stop Questioning” – Einstein

29th November

This week we explore the links between what we experience of breath and mind and how this is validated through science. Learn about:

  • The different states of nervous system we experience – rest and digest versus fight, flight and freeze
  • How the body tells the brain what state to put itself in – the vagus nerve, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure
  • Tools for controlling this response and turning it to our advantage

Week 3: “Balance is not Something You Find its Something You Create” – Jana Kingsford

6th December

This week, we will

  • Establish a well rounded breath – the fundamentals of balanced breathing and a balance mind
  • Explore why we breathe poorly and simple solutions for remedying this
  • Keep the nose open and the mouth closed!

Week 4: “You Don’t find Peace by Rearranging the circumstances of your Life” – Eckhart Tolle

13th December

In our final week together, we will tie everything together and discover:

  • How to adapt to survive – why the ability to adapt to what is, is the key to a peaceful, balanced life
  • How to develop a robust and resilient nervous system via breath work
  • How to take these skills into our daily life and keeping them there

Dan believes that you can’t teach yoga or meditation; you can only facilitate other peoples’ journey to find a perfectly organic way of practicing for them, something that he calls ‘Yoga Like Water’. He is just as likely to be found experimenting with these concepts free-diving; surfing; on a slack-line or rock face as in yoga. You may wish to check out Dan’s Ten Day Breath Challenge here.

Can’t make it live?

We will be offering a on-demand playback of the workshop for 14 days afterwards, so you don’t have to miss out!
