Learn to trust our body, trust ourselves, get out of our head and into our body.

Calm the nervous system, learn how to regulate emotions, and restore balance through breath, movement, and intention with Qigong for Anxiety. Move beyond simply “managing” stress and instead learn how to metabolise it. Anxiety can easily become a default setting in our nervous systems. But balance is not a distant destination to reach for; it is a skill we can cultivate in the present moment.

Through ancient practices adapted for modern life, we’ll learn to shift from reactive to receptive. This Qigong workshop will leave us relaxed, but equipped with practical tools to return to a place of inner calm whenever life feels chaotic.

In this workshop we’ll explore:

  • Nervous System Regulation: Simple but powerful breathwork techniques to immediately signal safety to the body and lower cortisol levels.
  • Grounding Qigong Forms: Gentle movements designed to move energy from a busy mind and anchor it deep in the body.
  • Releasing Stagnation: Practices to shake off physical tension and clear the “emotional dust” that accumulates during stressful periods.
  • The Alchemy of Anxiety: How to transform anxious energy into focus and vitality.

Who is this workshop for:

  • Anyone feeling the weight of burnout, stress, or high-functioning anxiety who needs a reset.
  • Those who find it difficult to “switch off” their mind or relax their body after a long day.
  • Beginners to Qigong or martial arts—no previous experience is required, just an open mind.
  • Experienced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of how energy work supports mental health.
  • Anyone seeking a supportive space to reconnect with their inner joy and resilience.

About Matthew Cohen:

Matthew Cohen is the founder of Sacred Energy Arts and is offering the MFML community a series of seasonal Qigong Workshops to harness the power of the seasons. SEA (Sacred Energy Arts) Qigong is an ancient and progressive method that blends movement, breathwork, and intention to enhance overall health and vitality.

At the age of 5 Matthew found his brother Scott’s yoga book and from that moment on, something inside him awakened – He was on a journey of self discovery. Later, at age 12, Matthew started a lifelong love affair with Martial Arts which led him into dance, qigong, shamanism and healing therapies.

Matthew has been blessed to train with true legends in each of these fields and teaching for over 40 years. His practice has allowed him to share with people from all walks of life in over 15 countries.

Matthew loves the intersection of the ancient and cutting edge, moving from the secular to the sacred, and helping people find their original medicine – what they were born to do.

Matthew’s passion is discovering how to cultivate and regulate more energy so we can all live a more authentic life.

Cost

We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.

We want you to know that we are there for you.

Therefore, we are trialling a ‘Pay As You Can’ for our MFML workshops.

There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the workshop, and this is £35.

If finances might get in the way of you joining, you can pay what you can afford, and therefore you are still able to join. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £15, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.

Those of you do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come with online workshops and community gatherings. However, we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Please do get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever about the workshop, about payment, or any concerns at all. We really love to hear from you.
