The Teachers

Lucy McCarthy teaches mindful, alignment based Vinyasa flow and will be leading the yoga, meditation and pranayama classes, plus the opening and closing circles.

Margi Young roots her yoga classes in Buddhist philosophy and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, emphasising clear alignment, mindful breathing, diligent effort, and deep relaxation to cultivate a calm mental state and reveal the benefits of yoga.

Kat Farrants is the founder of MFML and she will be binding the retreat family together by hosting the discussions and supporting you all in sharing opinions and experiences.

The Dates

Thursday 9 January – Sunday 12 January 2025

The Daily Schedule

All sessions will be hosted live on Zoom and are open to all levels. You are welcome to join no matter what stage of your yoga practice you are at. Suggestions for additional classes to practice will also be provided.

We recommend you take the whole weekend off, as if you were away on retreat! Spend time in nature, read books, journal, relax, book in a massage or bodywork session and eat nourishing foods. We’ll even be sharing some recipes for you to try out.

Thursday 9th January

7pm – 8pm (UK Time)

Intention Setting with Margi

A journaling, meditation and breathwork class. Get still and grounded with some breath-work and meditation and then Margi will lead us through a journaling practice to help us to tune into where we are and what would be helpful in this year and for 2025. This exercise is open to everyone—no need to be a writer- just an exercise to ponder life from a different angle!

Friday 10th January

7pm – 8.30pm (UK Time)

A Welcome circle, hosted by Lucy, will connect us to the retreat theme, community and our goals.

Followed by a sequence of slow, hip-opening poses to settle the spirit and connect to the earth. A soothing breathwork exercise will then follow, to balance the nervous system and settle the spirit.

Saturday 11th January

9am – 10:30am (UK Time)

An energetic breath-led vinyasa yoga class with Lucy designed to open and clear the heart, uplift the spirit & reclaim our inner radiance. We will work progressively and intelligently through a backbend focused sequence incorporating dynamic, awakening breathwork, mudras and enlivening mantras. Come away feeling renewed, refreshed and vitalised.

5pm – 6:30pm (UK Time)

A gentle movement sequence, led by Margi, designed to open up the hips and spine, promoting ease and fluidity. Prepare to reconfigure your space—pull apart your couch to create a cosy nest of cushions for a deeply supported restorative pose. The practice will culminate in a seated meditation, featuring alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana), to send you into your night balanced, refreshed, and grounded.

9am – 10:30am (UK Time)

An invigorating breath-led mindful vinyasa yoga morning class with Lucy. Beginning with centring meditation and cleansing pranayama followed by poses that will focus on twisting to cleanse, rinse out and harmonise our whole system. Leaving us feeling enlivened, empowered & back in our radiant centres.

Midday – 1pm (UK Time)

Q&A with Lucy

5pm – 6:30pm (UK Time)

Closing Practice: A Soothing and Joyful Farewell

As we wrap up this weekend retreat, join Margi for a soothing and joyful practice designed to leave you feeling uplifted and inspired. In this special session, Margi will guide you through some of her favourite, crowd-pleasing sequences to help cement the idea of finding and cultivating goodness in your life.

We will then come together with Margi, Lucy and Kat for a heartfelt closing circle, sharing reflections, intentions and gratitude for our time spent together. To end on a high note, we’ll celebrate with a yogi toast to 2025—raising our collective energy, sharing our intentions of radiance, joy and finding our personal intentions as we venture onwards into 2025, with the reminder that we can shine brighter, come into our radiance and empowerments with community.

Cost

We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.

We want you to know that we are there for you.

Therefore, we are offering the online retreat on a ‘Pay As You Feel’ basis.

There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means, of £97.

If finances might get in the way of you joining, we will welcome you to the retreat, and you can pay what you think that this will be worth to you. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £47, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.

Those of you do have the means to support us, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come, with community and the magic that these spaces give us all, however we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Please do get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever about the retreat, about payment, or any concerns at all. We always really love to hear from you.
