The Teachers:
Our Lead Teacher on this retreat is Lucy McCarthy. In her classes, she shares mindful, alignment based Vinyasa flow and hopes to impart some of the ease of mind, body and breath that yoga gives her everyday. She manages to encourage us to move but only in ways which feel good to each of us. Check out Lucy’s classes here.
Kat Farrants is the founder of MFML and she will be binding the retreat family together by hosting the discussions, setting the tone of the retreat with a journaling class, and supporting you all in sharing opinions and experiences.
The Daily Schedule:
All sessions will be hosted live on Zoom and are suitable for all abilities; you are welcome to join no matter which stage what of your yoga practice you are at. We will be offering suggestions for a range of additional classes which you can practice in your own time through the weekend.
We recommend you take the weekend off as if you were away on retreat! Spend time in nature, read books, journal, relax, book in a massage or bodywork session and eat nourishing foods. Of course, life does sometimes not allow that, so just know that even by doing one or two classes, you’re nourishing and supporting yourself, and you’ll have the classes which are recorded to practice to for the next 30 days.
Friday 16 January
6.30 – 8.30pm (UK Time)
We begin your Radiance Retreat with a 30-minute online journalling session with Kat Farrants. Kat will guide you through simple prompts to clarify your intentions, explore what radiance means to you, and gently set the tone for the weekend ahead.
We then gather in our opening circle, creating a warm, supportive space to meet one another and anchor into our shared theme of inner radiance.
To end the evening, settle into a restorative class with Lucy McCarthy. Expect soft, supported shapes, long pauses, and calming guidance to release tension and invite a quiet glow from within.
Saturday 17 January
9am – 10:30am (UK Time)
An energetic breath-led vinyasa yoga class with Lucy designed to open and clear the heart, uplift the spirit & reclaim our inner radiance. We will work progressively and intelligently through a backbend focused sequence incorporating dynamic, awakening breathwork, mudras and enlivening mantras. Come away feeling renewed, refreshed and vitalised.
6pm – 7.30pm (UK Time)
Gentle Movement, Breathwork & Nidra
Settle into a deeply nourishing practice designed to restore the nervous system, soften the edges of stress, and reconnect us to our innate radiance. In this calming session, Lucy will guide us through slow, mindful movement to unwind the body, followed by soothing pranayama to regulate the breath and invite clarity.
Be held in a supportive space as we transition into Yoga Nidra – a guided yogic rest that allows us to release mental and physical tension, access deep relaxation, and awaken the stillness within. This practice is ideal if you’re seeking rest, balance, and gentle reconnection to yourself.
Sunday 18 January
9am – 10:30am (UK Time)
An invigorating breath-led mindful vinyasa yoga morning class with Lucy. Beginning with centring meditation and cleansing pranayama followed by poses that will focus on twisting to cleanse, rinse out and harmonise our whole system. Leaving us feeling enlivened, empowered & back in our radiant centres.
12 – 1pm GMT | | Lunchtime Q&A with Lucy
A cosy, informal chance to ask any questions relating to anything that has come up in the retreat so far or indeed any burning questions you have about yoga that you would like to ask.
5pm – 6:30pm (UK Time)
Closing Gentle Flow & Celebration Circle
As we complete this Radiance Retreat, join Lucy for a gentle yoga flow designed to quietly awaken the body, steady the mind, and leave you feeling spacious and uplifted. Expect slow, mindful movement to ease tension, rebuild energy and help you integrate the weekend’s practices.
We’ll then come together with Lucy and Kat for a supportive closing circle – a space to share reflections, gratitude, and what you’ll carry forward from our time together. We’ll close with a yogi toast to 2026, celebrating community, intention and the reminder that we can meet the year ahead with radiance, joy and personal empowerment.
Cost:
We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.
We want you to know that we are there for you.
Therefore, we are offering the online retreat on a ‘Pay As You Feel’ basis.
There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means, of £137.
If finances might get in the way of you joining, we will welcome you to the retreat, and you can pay what you think that this will be worth to you. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £67, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.
Those of you do have the means to support us, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come, with community and the magic that these spaces give us all, however we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.
Please do get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever about the retreat, about payment, or any concerns at all. We always really love to hear from you.
