Take another breath, sigh it all out of the mouth and relax into that spaciousness.<\/p>\n<h3>We have got so caught up in being &#8216;on&#8217; 24\/7 that, for a majority of the time, our nervous systems are in a state of alert. We can get into a cycle where we forget we are human &#8216;beings&#8217; and not human &#8216;doings&#8217;.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/yoga-for-stress-and-anxiety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read more about yoga for stress and anxiety in this complete guide<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The word &#8216;stress&#8217; is a commonly used in our day to day lives and in times it can be useful&#8211; but our bodies have gone into overdrive, as have stress hormones such as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cortisol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cortisol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When finding moments of\u00a0rest in your day, you are allowing your cells, your nervous system, and your brain to settle and catch up to you.<\/p>\n<h3>In our modern society, we seem to be plagued with guilt if we choose to do\u00a0nothing. Our number one priority, ourselves, gets shoved aside because we feel it&#8217;s not as important as all the other stuff that needs to get done.<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1234\" src=\"http:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/download-e1434039328485.jpeg\" alt=\"download\" width=\"610\" height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yes, our jobs are demanding and require our undivided attention and commuting is totally draining and juggling life with children is really tough.<\/p>\n<p>All of these stress-inducing factors should motivate\u00a0us to consciously\u00a0sit still for a few minutes, every day.
