Hippocrates said that the way to health was a fragrant bath everyday\u00a0and water is incredibly soothing on the nervous system. It will perfectly unwind you before bed\u00a0while fragrant aromas deeply enhance the experience.<\/p>\n<p>Pick out some of your favourite essential oils which\u00a0should be 100% natural and reasonably fresh. Choose from lavender, chamomile roman, blue chamomile, frankincense, vetiver marjoram, benzoin, clary sage, vetiver, hops\u00a0or\u00a0valerian. Never put oils directly into the bath but\u00a0always mix before in some base oil.<\/p>\n<p>For even deeper sleep, <a href=\"http:\/\/yogandha.com\/product\/relax\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yogandha Relax<\/a> has been formulated for exactly this purpose. It is a very rich and soothing blend and has an extraordinary effect on the mind and body to facilitate relaxation and sleep. Pour 5-10 mls directly into the bath before stepping in.<\/p>\n<p>Good news if you don\u2019t have a bath: you can still do the ritual\u00a0with\u00a0a basin\u00a0and split the ritual into\u00a0two separate parts. A\u00a0brain bath and a foot bath will get\u00a0the same results as lying in the fragrant waters.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Put the pure oils or the Yogandha Relax into a basin of steaming water, cover your head with a towel and breathe. Feel the immediate effects on the mind as the steam surrounds your head.<\/li>\n<li>When the basin has cooled, place it on the floor and have a soothing foot bath. Yes, you can watch TV while having your foot bath but the aim is to foster good sleep, so a better idea\u00a0would be to read. This is even more powerful when you use the\u00a0same fragrant blend used, as smells\u00a0have a deep impact on our memory.<\/p>\n<p>Again, <a href=\"http:\/\/yogandha.com\/product\/relax\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yogandha Relax<\/a> is perfect for this because it&#8217;s\u00a0safe to use directly on the skin and formulated precisely for deep relaxation.<\/p>\n<h4>Fragrant\u00a0Breath\u00a0Work<\/h4>\n<p>The final part of the 3-part Gandha Sleep Ritual is fragrant breathwork. To do this we recommend\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/yogandha.com\/product\/ground\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yogandha Ground Rollerball<\/a> as it\u2019s easy to use and can be applied neat.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have Yogandha Ground, you can use one of the oils that go into it\u00a0such as\u00a0Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh\u00a0or\u00a0Vetiver.\u00a0Remember that\u00a0undiluted essential oils should be blended with\u00a0base oil before applying to the skin.<\/p>\n<p>Rub your oil blend onto these pulse points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temples<\/li>\n<li>Third eye<\/li>\n<li>Wrists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now exhale fully in preparation for a few rounds of alternate nostril breathing.<\/p>\n<p>Make a fist with your right hand, opening out your thumb and little\u00a0finger.\u00a0Close your right nostril with your thumb and breathe out gently through the left nostril.<\/p>\n<p>Breathe in from the left nostril and then close the left nostril gently with the little\u00a0finger. Removing the thumb from the right nostril, breathe out then in from the right\u00a0nostril.<\/p>\n<p>Again, close the right nostril and exhale from the left.<\/p>\n<p>Continue inhaling and exhaling from alternate nostrils for about nine rounds.<\/p>\n<p>As you breathe be aware of the actions of the herbs. Sandalwood will quiet the mind and calm any irritations from the day. Lavender will relax and help you to let go. Frankincence will deepen and steady the breath. Vetiver will ground you. Be mindful of the fragrant substances bringing you into a restful and calming state.<\/p>\n<h4>Sleep Well<\/h4>\n<p>Remember that any one of the 3-parts can be done on its own. Do\u00a0all three when you can and\u00a0when you can\u2019t, choose the one that you have time for or the one that your body is asking for most.
