These beliefs or thoughts become your limiting beliefs. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People often ask me how I was able to make so many changes in my life while working a demanding corporate job, raising 3 kids <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> attending college. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People are amazed when I said it really wasn\u2019t that difficult. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reason is simple &#8211; I wanted it. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the secret to making lasting change: you have to want it. \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your beliefs need to back you up, then comes action. \u00a0When your desires, beliefs and actions are all in alignment, there is nothing you can\u2019t achieve. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s explore the top five limiting beliefs that I hear my clients say over and over. \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>Limiting belief #1: My family and friends are resistant to eating healthy<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4744\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326.jpg 940w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-461326-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a>The journey to better health can often create resistance amongst loved ones, especially when it comes to food. \u00a0Sometimes this resistance is about their vulnerabilities, but other times it\u2019s just because healthy food has a bad reputation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People hear \u201chealthy,\u201d and they think, yuck. \u00a0But the days of having to choose between delicious and healthy are over. \u00a0The truth is, you need to do this for you. \u00a0It\u2019s your time to step up and take care of yourself regardless of anyone else. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then an interesting thing happens, when you lead by example your loved ones see the change in you. \u00a0They see your joy. \u00a0They see your glow. \u00a0And you just might find them asking how they can get a little bit of that too. \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b>Limiting belief #2: I\u2019m too busy <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4745\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1.jpg 940w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-1-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a>Many of you are busy professionals, globetrotters, caregivers for your parents, your children or both. \u00a0Whatever the case, there are lots of demands on all of us. \u00a0\u00a0The truth is, we all have the same number of hours in a day. \u00a0And it\u2019s your job to choose how to use them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I sometimes find myself apologetically saying to people \u2018I just don\u2019t have the time\u2019. \u00a0But the truth is I make time for the things that I <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">want<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to do, the things that I believe are important, which means other things don\u2019t get done, but less important things. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, make your boundaries and stop over-committing to friends, family and colleagues. Don\u2019t be afraid to say no. \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then ask yourself, are you watching too much TV or surfing the internet for hours? \u00a0Can you wake up a little earlier and get to bed sooner? \u00a0Can you ask for help when you need it? \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you let the excuse of not having enough time stand in your way, a year from now you could be in the exact same place you are today or worse. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Limiting belief #3: But will I meet all my nutritional needs on a plant-based diet <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4743\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402.jpg 940w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/pexels-photo-128402-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a>This is a great question and ironically one that most people only ask when confronted with a healthy eating plan! There\u2019s a lot of misinformation out there, the first one is about protein. \u00a0The truth is the plant kingdom is full of protein rich foods. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protein is abundant in vegetables, beans, grains, seeds and nuts. As long as you\u2019re eating well balanced meals like the ones you have downloaded in this series of lessons, you\u2019ll get everything you need. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To further assess the nutritional value of your food you need what I call the \u2018Grade Your Food\u2019 chart. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here I have graded the most common foods from A to F, guiding you in taking a step by step approach to moving to higher quality foods. \u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/MFMLGradeYourFood\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click here to download it. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another common myth is about calcium. \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most people believe that cow\u2019s milk is the only source of calcium. But did you know that leafy greens like cabbage, kale and collards contain a huge amount of calcium. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think of elephants and other powerful animals that rely solely on plant foods for complete nutrition. If they can do it, we can certainly add more veggies to our plate. \u00a0When you do, you\u2019ll also be getting a huge dose of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Limiting belief #4: Fear of failure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4746\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure.jpg 940w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/woman-dropped-fail-failure-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a>Sometimes the biggest obstacle standing in your way is YOU and your fear of failure.
