Usually, I\u2019m a fan of resilience, of grit, of just \u2018getting on and doing it\u2019. But as it\u2019s mid-August,\u00a0I\u2019m going to let us all off the hook and talk about the benefits of lack of self-control and making time to be lazy.<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4820\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694.jpg 940w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/pexels-photo-301694-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Usually, I say that the best things happen when we form an intention, get into a habit and make ourselves practice \u2013 this forms discipline, which is the backbone of a yoga practice. As you\u2019ll know well, the key advantage to practicing at home is that you have to exercise your discipline muscle every day, which is very good for you.<\/p>\n<h3>So for all of us who like discipline, who thrive on control, who are careful with what we eat, what we think and what we do: \u00a0This week, for one week only, I\u2019d love for you to let it all go!<\/h3>\n<p>Practice lack of self-control and see what happens. That doesn\u2019t mean don\u2019t roll out your mat and do your daily practice, but only do it if you feel like doing it. See if this week you can focus on just doing what you fancy, eating what you fancy and living life with some joie de vivre. Let go! Release control.<\/p>\n<p>And just see what it feels like. This is an experiment. I don\u2019t think that any of us should live our lives like this, but especially in an age where everyone is always telling us what we \u2018should\u2019 do, how about just letting go for a week?<\/p>\n<p>And see what happens! You may find that, even your lazy self does the small old antics of your usual self.
