{"id":5518,"date":"2018-01-15T08:00:50","date_gmt":"2018-01-15T08:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/?p=5518"},"modified":"2018-01-12T14:31:46","modified_gmt":"2018-01-12T14:31:46","slug":"january-joy-with-yin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/january-joy-with-yin\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving Into January Joy | Kat&#8217;s Movement Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>I\u2019ve been told that today, the third Monday in January, \u00a0is officially, the least happy day of the year.<\/h3>\n<h5><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5519\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain-624x468.jpg 624w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rain.jpg 1267w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5>Which is such a shame, as it makes me think that so many folks are really missing a trick. <strong>There are so many things to LOVE about January. <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>To me, January in the chilly Northern climes is <strong>the best month for staying in. <\/strong>This month I pretty much take all events out of my diary and I stay in.<strong> I read, I write, I curl up on a sofa (or over a bolster) and cover myself in rugs and hot water bottles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I also go out for <strong>very, very long bracing walks.<\/strong> I try to take myself to the seaside because it\u2019s so freezing and blustery. And it\u2019s <strong>SUCH FUN to come inside after you\u2019ve been properly cold and wind-swept.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5520\" src=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk-624x351.jpg 624w, https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/walk.jpg 1885w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5>For my yoga practice, <strong>I take my<a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/yoga-classes\/yin-restorative\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/yoga-classes\/yin-restorative\"> Yin Yoga <\/a>practice to the next level in January.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In the mornings, I do a short but sweet feisty practice to heat up. I then take long but very, very brisk walks and runs in the countryside to get the heart pounding and the wind and rain on the face. But evenings are just the best.
