A Yoga class with Andrea Kwiatkowski<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Why Yin?<\/h3>\n<p>The lovely thing about Yin yoga is that the poses are held for a matter of minutes rather than a breath or two. And a\u00a0<strong>long hold\u00a0<\/strong>means that we can really <strong>settle\u00a0<\/strong>into the <strong>feeling\u00a0<\/strong>of the pose, <strong>soften<\/strong>\u00a0and work with a <strong>deeper\u00a0<\/strong>breath, and it <strong>calms\u00a0<\/strong>our nervous system as well as building flexibility much more effectively and safely than fast vinyasa classes.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be surprised at how effective so-called gentle Yin poses are at progressing your shapes in more yang styles. Yin poses are all based upon the Chinese medicine system so they specifically target\u00a0<strong>internal organs <\/strong>which govern our health and how we feel.
