I\u2019m just back from a 3 night retreat with our wonderful teacher Mimi. The theme was welcoming in the light of spring! We learnt about practices to help us to navigate through springtime energy, using the Chinese medicine concept of the Wood element.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> As I understood it, wood energy is about learning to find stability through change. When the winds of springtime and the inevitable challenges in our lives come up, we have the ability to find our roots and be strong, but importantly, flexible, to weather life\u2019s storms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qigong &amp; Yoga<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The practices we learnt were meditation, QiGong and Yoga \u2013 often combined. I really found them to be heart-opening and very helpful to me in my personal journey navigating the waters of leading a community with kindness. Especially for us home yogis, going to retreat, to journey inward to re-set and re-calibrate our intentions for life is absolutely crucial.  <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With retreat fresh in my mind, our the annual MFML Annual Retreat With Lucy has just been released to our Movers! It\u2019s already selling out fast, so if you\u2019d like to come with us to Suryalila in November, do check out the details<strong>&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/blog\/2019-yoga-retreat\/?mc_cid=718b6d4f76&amp;mc_eid=%5BUNIQID%5D\" target=\"_blank\">here <\/a><\/strong>and book your spot asap!&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The retreat made me think that, no matter how long we have been practicing for, or how advanced we may believe ourselves to be, it\u2019s also nice to be able to try different things, to try different styles. If you don\u2019t know anything about qigong, I really do recommend trying <a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/yoga-teacher\/mimikuo-deemer\">Mimi\u2019s<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/movementformodernlife.com\/yoga-teacher\/jooteoh\">Joo\u2019s<\/a> yoga\/qigong fusion classes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stuck in a yoga rut<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But perhaps\nyou\u2019re stuck in a bit of a \u2018yoga rut\u2019, or maybe you\u2019ve never really tried some\ndifferent styles. Springtime is the perfect time to try something a little\ndifferent! We\u2019ve come up with a new course for you, it\u2019s Try Your Style \u2013 you\nnever know what practices you might learn to love if you try something\ncompletely different!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also have lots of wonderful people joining me on my 30 days of accountability challenge in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/372421849775445\/\"><strong>Movers group<\/strong><\/a>.
