Roughly 45-60 minutes from London, it is the perfect getaway and opportunity to escape the stresses and pressures of everyday life in the city. The countryside environment will instantly calm the mind and relax your body. The studio was launched by Casey Gill in 2014 and re-opened in the current space in September 2016. With a range of classes from qualified and talented teachers along with some pretty exciting workshops and retreats from world-class instructors (including several of Movement for Modern Life’s teachers), there’s something for everyone. Classes include Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative Yoga, Jivamukti, Integral Yoga, Beginners Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pregnancy Yoga, Mum & Baby Yoga and more.

Our philosophy at Thaxted Yoga is that anyone, anywhere can do yoga and everyone deserves a retreat from everyday life. We also believe in creating an atmosphere embracing nature and making the most of our stunning views. Plants play a big part in our studio design (officially called biophilic design) and you will love our moss wall, living pictures, and variety of plants around the studio. It is well documented that our connection with plants and nature helps boost wellness, improves focus and just generally makes us feel happy!

    Naomi Absalom

Breathwork - the secret to great health and moving you from 'doing OK' to living your most vibrant life. In this class, Naomi leads us through some powerful breath practices which can radically help your life. The first practice serves to open up the breath through the lungs and the entire system - shifting any kind of erratic breath patterns or involuntary breath holds but also supporting immune function. The second is a beautifully calming breath that works to balance the chemistry of the body. If this is your second viewing of the video and you'd like the practices without the explanation, the practices start at 8 minutes. Do not practice this class if you are pregnant (although you can practice the second technique) and for some sufferers of anxiety, it may be useful to practice with a knowledgable teacher at first. Breathwork is more powerful than you may think!
