I’ll Never Get Motivated to Do Yoga At Home

We understand. Rolling out a mat at home, let alone practicing yoga on it, can seem daunting. Often time is short and space is limited. There are cats, dogs, children, partners, meals to be cooked. The list is endless. So many reasons, right there in your home, why you should hoover or tidy up instead of doing yoga. Some of us only feel we can motivate ourselves to do yoga if we go to a class.

Yes, we know how you feel. We’ve written a little blog about that here (link). But the beauty of these practices is that they’re short. And super gentle and easy. It’s less a question of cheerleading yourself to do a punishing routine than treating yourself, and learning to embrace and accept who you are, and your own busy life.

Why do I need yoga every day with us?

Yoga can really help to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and overwhelm that so many of us feel in our day to day lives. Many of us wait for the holiday to be able to wind down and really relax. But we believe that we should be able to access this state of relaxation on a daily basis, just taking a short time out of our days. Our teachers are world class, and are teacher’s teachers and can be trusted to safely guide you through your daily class. Our community is friendly and inclusive, you’ll have access to our closed facebook group where you can ask questions of our community and teachers. Just 20 -30 minutes of relaxation yoga every day can benefit you in the following ways:

I am an NHS worker and came to Movement for Modern Life during the Covid Pandemic. It has been a great companion since. My work pattern is stressful/long days and it is so helpful that I can go online when I have time home. They offer a wide range of classes - more dynamic and luckily also a lot of quieter and shorter classes. Even a 20 min class "clears my head" and lets my neurons work in "straight lines" again! It has helped me to stay away from other relaxing methods like alcohol and my sleep has also improved no end with it. All teachers are of exceptional quality - what an amazing resource!
