Healthy Hips: Strength for the Hip Joints
Pilates and Yoga for healthy, mobile and strong hip joints. If you're a regular yoga practitioner, or you sit for long periods, you may have weaker muscles in the areas surrounding the hips. This class uses Pilates and yoga moves to strengthen the hips by moving the body in different planes of motions and at different speeds. A great class for most of us who have weaker hip and glute muscles. You may use an exercise band, if you have one, but it's not necessary for the class, and some exercises are done next to the wall.

Yoga for Back Care: Enjoying Strength
This Yoga for Back Care class focuses on strenthening the muscles which will help to keep your back strong. This class is stronger, suitable for intermediate yogis, moving more towards free standing movements now now to apply the principles learned in previous classes. This back care class is more fiesty, demanding a greater physical fitness and mobility, but with a focus on alignment and listening to the body and the information it feedbacks to us, should we choose to listen. You will need a yoga block, or book. And a sense of humility - if the posisitons in this class are too much, do go back to the other back care classes.

Yoga for Beginners: Go Slow
The focus for this hatha yoga class, the next in our beginners yoga course, is on finding a sense of ease in our practice. Class starts with breath work and gentle seated stretches. After flowing through a mindfully paced sun salutation B, the sequence further explores familiar poses. Often, when working through balancing and strengthening poses, we find areas of the body gripping. Therefore, we experiment with different hand and food placements to see if there is a more easeful way of moving and holding poses. Sometimes, when the body relaxes it can find more endurance and comfort. Class ends with a long constructive rest and savasana.

Stretch & Strengthen: Legs & Bums
This well-rounded yoga and mindful movement class has a focus on stretching and strengthening the glute muscles, and features plenty of standing balancing poses. This yoga class is ideal for those who walk regularly, run, cycle or do other physical sports or activities as strong glutes are vital for maintaining hip and lower back health. Strong, lifted and well stretched glutes also help to prevent injury, and are especially important for those of us who lead more sedentary lives.

Menopause Yoga for Strength
A gently strengthening yoga class to re-energise and empower by building strong bones. This dynamic hatha yoga class with poses that are held for 10 rounds of breath helps build bone mineral density and muscle mass, and raise the heart rate. This class has been designed to help prevent osteoporosis (weakened bones), sarcopenia (muscle loss) and cardiovascular disease, which can develop post-menopause. Expect a range of simple heart-lifting backbends to energise, breath work, a restorative yoga pose, relaxation practice and seated meditation. You will need a strap or belt, 2 bolsters, a cushion, a blanket, and 2 blocks. NB - Osteoporosis: avoid flexion rounding your back in forward folds; keep your spine straight. If you have previously experienced panic attacks, avoid holding your breath and instead follow your own breathing pace.

Hatha Yoga to Energise
Feel energised and reinvigorated with this simple but well-rounded yoga class of mostly standing postures. After a gentle warm-up, expect a simple series of grounding, standing postures to bring strength and energy to the whole body. The class is specifically sequenced to re-energise women, but everyone can benefit. The movements work with the spirals of the female form so the body is encouraged to feel at ease. This sequence of flowing and predominantly standing Hatha Yoga postures is linked with thoughtful transitions and breath work, to help release such tensions and manifest our full awareness of our physical and energetic being.

Gentle Yoga for Strength without Depletion
In this gentle yoga class, we learn how we can strengthen the body without depleting it of energy or causing a build up of lactic acid. This class is suitable for when you’ve been run down or unwell and you’re ready to start to build strength, but you need to do so very gently. Learn how to isolate movements and muscles so you can very safely and gently return to your strength. Although we recommend you take very gentle movements when you’re not feeling great, please seek your doctor’s advice if you are in any doubt.
