Moving into Gratitude

This week, our friends and colleagues in America are giving thanks. Whatever the historical rights or wrongs that led to the celebration, we think that having a day dedicated to gratitude is just lovely.GRATITUDE

In fact, I think that the day of gratitude should be extended to 365 days. If you’re able to read this blog, chances are, you have an awful lot to be grateful for. There are so many who we share this beautiful spaceship called earth who are having a tougher time than us. The spaceship itself isn’t having an easy time, then there are the plants and animals who we need to be so grateful to for allowing us to share this space with them, and putting up with our nonsense. And then there are the other human beings who also put up with our baggage and let us reside, by and large, peacefully together.

Sometimes it doesn’t all go well, and people pretend to be different to one another. They give themselves the excuse of ethnicities or religions to fight with each other, causing widespread havoc to humans, animals, plants and the planet. We just think that if everyone was just a little more grateful for even being given the grace to share this space with each other, this would not happen.

I am currently keeping a gratitude journal. This will give my mind some peace as well as helping to extend that peace to my team-members, teachers, community and all those I come across. I am writing down just three different things every morning and evening that I am grateful for. It’s a wonderful practice! I can’t recommend it enough.

This week in particular, I am grateful to you for your support for the community, and our teachers, and in particular, Naomi, Acro Yoga Dance and Andrea, who each share their humour and wisdom in this week’s new videos.
