Margi Young

Margi’s classes emphasize clear alignment, mindful breathing, diligent effort, and deep relaxation so that the benefits of yoga reveal themselves. She roots her yoga classes in Buddhist philosophy and in The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali so that the physical practice manifests in a calm mental state. She sincerely hopes that the practice that she offers helps her students stay centered and calm off the mat as well. Taking a cue from the Buddha, Margi’s classes are lighthearted as she believes it is imperative that we come together and study this vast subject with joy.

Margi holds a BA from Mills College in Oakland, California and an MFA from New York University in dance and choreography where she graduated with the Seidman award for excellence. In 2001, when she attended a yoga teacher training at Cyndi Lee’s OM Yoga Center in New York City, she was certain that a life immersed in yoga was right for her. For 10+  years Margi taught at OM before moving home to San Francisco where she now teaches classes, workshops and trainings.

She also travels the world and is thrilled to be able to offer her classes on Movement for Modern Life. Her main teachers have been Genny Kapular, Cyndi Lee, Jennifer Brilliant, Carrie Owerko, Martin Aylward and Tias Little. She is also certified in restorative yoga, cranial sacral therapy, prenatal yoga and mindfulness meditation. Margi was named one of the 100 most influential yoga teachers in America from Somima, an online publication.

The workshop will take place on Zoom and you will receive the link the day before the workshop. If you haven’t received the link please get in touch at least 2 hours before the start of the class.

Can’t make it live?

We will be offering a on-demand playback of the workshop for 14 days afterwards, so you don’t have to miss out!

Cost

We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.

We want you to know that we are there for you.

Therefore, our workshops and live events are offered on a ‘Pay As You Can’ basis.

There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the workshop, and this is £35.

If finances might get in the way of you joining, you can pay what you can afford, and therefore you are still able to join. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £10, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.

Those of you do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come with online workshops and community gatherings. However, we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Please do get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever about the workshop, about payment, or any concerns at all. We really love to hear from you.
