4 Ways To Connect With Your Crown Chakra | Kirsty Norton

This is where the whole concept of the chakra system can seem etheral and out of reach for many. That’s why we’ve come up with 4 easy techniques to connect with your crown chakra, even if you’re not expecting enlightenment any time soon.

It is worth sticking with this. It is where we are all pointed towards in our practice, whether we are aware or not. Consciousness, Universe, The Bigger Picture. It connects us to Source, Divinity. Whatever you want to call it.

This is not an intellectual concept, which is why it can seem so ‘out there’ for some. However, when in connection there is a deep sense of joy, love – these feelings are actually beyond any concept of what we understand in our daily life. It’s the meeting point between finite and infinite. This is where we realise we are interconnected. As this is beyond thought, there is no element associated with it.

When in balance you are understanding and in a state of pure bliss. When out of balance you feel overly attached to the physical realms.

Here are 4 suggestions for connecting with your crown chakra, wherever you are on the path.

1. Yoga Practices

Meditation is the ultimate practice to nourish your crown chakra.  Try this class from Lucy McCarthy.

>>Crown Chakra Meditation>>

A meditative seated practice to awaken and unite your whole mind and body. Deeply calming and nourishing.

2. Self-Enquiry

A brief and profound practice, similar to last week, you won’t need a journal. Just meditate on the question ‘Who am I?’

3. Fasting

Fasting or Detoxing is great for this centre.

4. Aroma

Smudging, or burning herbs or plants to clear the air of negativity and pathogens, is another technique to clear the way for this centre. Smudging has been used for years and years and we love that it’s been proven to kill airborne bacteria too!

All you need to do is light a bunch of dried herbs, particularly sage, and allow it to smoulder. Circle your body and your feet with the fragrant smoke before wafting around the doors, windows and all the corners of your space.

If you prefer essential oils, Frankincense, the Oil of Truth, is great to diffuse into the air. This oil invites you to let go of lower vibrations and negativity. It brings perspective and focus. Other oils for your crown chakra include sage, copal, myrrh, frankincense, and juniper.
