Embrace cosy, fight fatigue and boost immunity with Catherine Annis teaching nourishing and restorative practices to boost wellbeing this winter.

Winter time can lead us to feel exhausted, fatigued, stressed out and can cause immunity dips, leading to colds and viruses. It’s a time when we need extra nourishment and support for our bodies and minds.

Join us for Winter Wellbeing! This course is for you if:

  • You’ve been feeling anxious, overtired, overworked or stressed
  • You have persistent pain or fatigue that is limiting your life?
  • you’d like to give yourself the gift of extra nourishment
  • You want to fight winter blues and colds
  • You’re feeling overworked, overwhelmed and exhausted.
  • You’d like to explore how to enhance your health and wellbeing and restore space, calm and relaxation to your daily life.

This 6 week course will gently nourish and restore our sense of wellbeing and help you to incorporate calm and relaxation into daily life. Whilst Catherine recommends and request you join live to get the benefit from her time and the community being present, there is a generous 6 months access to the recordings too, you can watch the replays back in your own time and revisit the course content during tougher times.

The course will teach us how to gently enhance our quality of life.  We will explore how to incorporate simple techniques to rewire our system and restore a sense of ease and contentment.  We’ll focus on developing our own personal recipe for wellness, focused on discovering a range of techniques to use any time, any place, that will work to bring us back to centre.

Investing in our wellbeing can be the most important decision you ever make.  Improving your sense of self-esteem, boosting happiness and confidence are beneficial throughout the year, but especially during Winter, when a reduced immune system may leave us open to seasonal infections and feeling emotionally down.

Together, we’ll explore science based techniques which you can use at any time or place, to create your own individual recipe for feeling good.

What to expect:

Each session we will focus on a specific element of wellbeing, with time for information and discussion.  This is followed by a full hour of somatic movement and yoga, designed to encourage you to absorb and integrate the focus that week.

Please note: None of these sessions are intended to replace psychotherapy.  If you feel triggered, or unusually anxious, or are dealing with acute PTSD, it’s important to have support systems in place.  We may move into delicate areas and will do our best to support you, but we cannot take the place of good psychotherapeutic support.  If you are looking for a therapist, we may be able to offer suggestions.

Catherine Annis is well known for her imaginative and practical approach to yoga. In 2017 she created the Intelligent Yoga Teacher Training Course (iytt), a 12 month, anatomically focused teacher training course with world-leading teacher Gary Carter.

Originally a professional dancer, she discovered yoga as a teenager, and has been  practicing since the mid 1970s.  Having studied various styles of yoga including Sivananda, Iyengar, Astanga and various forms of Hatha yoga, she eventually gravitated to the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.

Catherine’s yoga practice and  teaching focuses on strategies for downregulating the nervous system, working with breath and subtle somatic work to soothe the mind and create more physical ease for those working with persistent pain, stress and anxiety.  She holds a Masters degree in ballet studies, and is a qualified Thai massage  practitioner, and it is this interest in the body which informs and inspires her teaching.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The course will take place on Zoom and you will receive the link the day before the course starts. If you haven’t received the link please get in touch at least 2 hours before the start of the class.

NOTE: It is important to attend these sessions live as there are lots of interactions and sharing involved.

We will be offering access to the recordings of this course for 6 months afterwards.

Cost

We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.

We want you to know that we are there for you.

Therefore, our courses and live events are offered on a ‘Pay As You Can’ basis.

There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the course, and this is £150.

If finances might get in the way of you joining, you can pay what you can afford, and therefore you are still able to join. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £60, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.

Those of you do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come with online events and community gatherings. However, we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Please do get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever about the course, about payment, or any concerns at all. We really love to hear from you.
