Morning Energiser › Adam Hocke
These practices are great for the morning. They are especially designed to give you some get up and go, no matter how much time you have; if you're giving yourself a short weekday gift of starting the day well or a beautiful, longer energising weekend practice to give yourself the time and space you need to feel just great.
We think you'll find that the day goes with so much more panache and ease after you start the day by getting moving.
Self Care Flow
This yoga class is perfect for when we feel anxious, stressed, overwhelmed or just have a busy mind. It is a gentle class for anytime; when you just feel that you need to be kind to yourself, when you are anxious and wired, or when you don't like what you're reading in the news. Come back to the reality of your body and breath with this flow practice. In this sequence we go through familiar and calming patterns of movement and spend time enjoying the internal life of postures through strengthening techniques that bring us more deeply into our bodies and the reality of the present moment. As we start feeling a bit better, we round it off with some self-massage and a powerful compassion meditation.
Afternoon Express Reset Flow
A go-to yoga class when you are short on time and need to invigorate, re-energise and find creative focus. This is a full-body, energising flow and even a sneaky arm balance. This is a really wonderful mid-afternoon pick me up or equally a great way to start the day. No props needed and no excuses about not having the time. A little yoga can go a long way!
Build strength and mobility in your shoulders and hips with this yoga class. Binding requires a combination of shoulder and hip flexibility that may not be easily available to everyone. Even if you can make the bind, are you doing so in a way that is strong and sustainable? This yoga class develops mobility and strength in your shoulder area, an area that often suffers from our technology-led lifestyle, and develops strength in your binding practice, whilst also working on hip flexibility and strength - perfect for those who spend a lot of time seated. We work skillfully with the strap and learn how to practise poses like bound side angle, bound twisting lunge, gomukhasana, bound bharadvajasana and more with strength and integrity. You will need a strap, a brick and a block.
Morning Wake Up Call
A perfect yoga class for those days when it's hard to get yourself moving. To help you gradually wake-up and invigorate the body before your day begins, start with a process of stretching, rolling and wiggling to warm-up before moving into sun salutations and easing into standing poses. Allow the intensity to gradually increase to a mindfully paced vinyasa flow and enjoy the heat-building capability of flow to start your day with a bang.
