Winter is the season of stillness, introspection, and deep nourishment.
Whether you’re looking to fortify your immune system, reduce seasonal stress, or simply stay grounded during the colder months, this 2-hour immersive workshop offers a supportive, empowering container to return to your centre.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Qigong philosophy, Winter corresponds to the Water element, associated with the kidneys—the root of vitality, courage, and immunity. Explore ancient practices to harmonise with the natural rhythms of this season and cultivate inner strength, clarity, and resilience.
We are delighted to welcome back senior teacher, Sifu Matthew Cohen for this workshop. He’s a life-long yoga, qigong and martial arts practitioner from California who weaves these traditions together in a creative exploration of how we can access our own innate power.
What to expect:
- Gentle, flowing Qigong sequences to build warmth, circulate energy, and boost immunity
- Breathwork practices to regulate the nervous system and support lung health
- Meditation and visualization to anchor stillness, focus the mind, and deepen your connection to the season
- Practical tools for daily resilience and emotional regulation
Key benefits:
✅ Strengthen your immune system naturally
✅ Cultivate deep internal warmth and vitality
✅ Reduce stress, fatigue, and mental fog
✅ Walk away with a home practice to carry you through the winter months
What you’ll need:
- Comfortable clothing for movement
- A quiet space where you can stand and move freely
- A cushion or chair for seated practices (optional)
- Water or warm tea nearby
- A notebook or journal if you’d like to jot down seasonal insights
Who this is for:
This workshop is open to all levels—whether you’re a seasoned Qigong practitioner or brand new to energy practices. No experience necessary.
Come as you are. Leave feeling energized, aligned, and more resilient—ready to meet winter with grace and grounded strength.
About Matthew Cohen:
Matthew Cohen is the founder of Sacred Energy Arts and is offering the MFML community a series of seasonal Qigong Workshops to harness the power of the seasons. SEA (Sacred Energy Arts) Qigong is an ancient and progressive method that blends movement, breathwork, and intention to enhance overall health and vitality.

At the age of 5 Matthew found his brother Scott’s yoga book and from that moment on, something inside him awakened – He was on a journey of self discovery. Later, at age 12, Matthew started a lifelong love affair with Martial Arts which led him into dance, qigong, shamanism and healing therapies.
Matthew has been blessed to train with true legends in each of these fields and teaching for over 40 years. His practice has allowed him to share with people from all walks of life in over 15 countries.
Matthew loves the intersection of the ancient and cutting edge, moving from the secular to the sacred, and helping people find their original medicine – what they were born to do.
Matthew’s passion is discovering how to cultivate and regulate more energy so we can all live a more authentic life.

Cost
We know that our community sometimes face real cost-dilemmas and that our wellbeing practices can be the first to suffer when life gets hard.
We want you to know that we are here for you.
We therefore offer a ‘Pay As You Can’ for our MFML workshops.
There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the workshop, and this is £35.
If, however, finances are getting in the way of you joining, you are welcome to pay what you can afford so that you can still benefit and participate. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £15, because as a small business we similarly need to be mindful of our cost considerations.
For those of you who do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price to help supplement and support the community and ensure these workshops and gatherings can continue and thrive.
