Sacred Energy Arts practices to harness and re-awaken energy for springtime

We are delighted to be hosting senior teacher, Sifu Matthew Cohen. He’s a life-long yoga, qigong and martial arts practitioner from California who has a truly beautiful practice and way of integrating yoga, qigong and martial arts to explore how we can access our own innate power.
Matthew Cohen is the founder of Sacred Energy Arts and is offering the MFML community a series of seasonal Qigong Workshops to harness the power of the seasons. (Sacred Energy Arts (SEA) is a multidisciplinary approach to health and self development, inspired by Qigong, yoga, & martial arts).
The first in this series of workshops is Qigong for springtime, to celebrate the Spring Equinox and to teach us how to harness the immense power and gift of the bright, vibrant energy that is springtime.
The workshop will focus on ways to bring more light and joy into our practice and into our daily lives.
It’s time to slough off your winter listlessness. After the winter, many of us feel drained, depleted of energy. This workshop will suit those of us who just feel a bit depleted and would like to feel more energised and a sense of vitality. If you are busy, tired, overwhelmed, or suffer from fatigue or a sense of listlessness, this workshop will be perfect for you.
This workshop is about learning to your capacity to cultivate, feel, receive, integrate and express the gift of Qi! (Energy).

Springtime is the perfect time to rejuvenate our practice. To harness the natural light and energy of nature and take the time to learn the practices which will give us natural energy and strength – a spring in our step!
The hallmark of qigong is to express energy in free and creative ways and to engage in an intentional life.

- This workshop will be especially useful for those of us feeling sluggish after the winter and would like to step into springtime with a sense of rejuvenation and joy.
- This workshop is open to everyone, with all levels of experience.

About Matthew Cohen:
At the age of 5 Matthew found his brother Scott’s yoga book and from that moment on, something inside him awakened – He was on a journey of self discovery. Later, at age 12, Matthew started a lifelong love affair with Martial Arts which led him into dance, qigong, shamanism and healing therapies.
Matthew has been blessed to train with true legends in each of these fields and teaching for over 40 years. His practice has allowed him to share with people from all walks of life in over 15 countries.
Matthew loves the intersection of the ancient and cutting edge, moving from the secular to the sacred, and helping people find their original medicine – what they were born to do.
Matthew’s passion is discovering how to cultivate and regulate more energy so we can all live a more authentic life.

The workshop will take place on Zoom and you will receive the link the day before the workshop. If you haven’t received the link please get in touch at least 2 hours before the start of the class.

We will be offering a on-demand playback of the workshop for 14 days afterwards, so you don’t have to miss out!
Cost
We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.
We want you to know that we are there for you.
Therefore, we are trialing a ‘Pay As You Can’ for our MFML workshops.
There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the workshop, and this is £35.
If finances might get in the way of you joining, you can pay what you can afford, and therefore you are still able to join. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £10, because like you, we are also struggling at these times.
Those of you do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come with online workshops and community gatherings. However, we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Practising safely
The live online workshops are for your education and your enjoyment only. You are participating in the live classes at your own risk. You are encouraged to to take breaks when needed and/or when in doubt, don’t do sequences that you are even a little concerned about. Only choose exercises which will nurture and support you, and please take responsibility for yourself and your current abilities during your practice. Remember that each day is different, and even if yesterday you were able to perform a movement, that is no indicator that the same exercise is possible today. Please move within your comfortable limits and if you’re in any doubt whatsoever, please seek medical advice.
