Live Online Intention Setting & Journalling Workshop

Set A Powerful Intention For 2022

Sunday 2nd January 2022 // 4-6pm (GMT)

“…This is the solstice, the still point
of the sun, its cusp and midnight,
the year’s threshold
and unlocking, where the past
lets go of and becomes the future;
the place of caught breath, the door
of a vanished house left ajar…”
Margaret Atwood

This two-hour live journalling workshop with MFML teacher Rakhee Jasani weaves together yoga and qigong with journalling prompts to enable you to set a powerful intention for 2022. Rakhee will combine slow flow with qigong practices for winter which promote self-reflection and deep listening. You will have the opportunity to bid a kind farewell to 2021 and step through the threshold of the new year setting a steady course. By connecting to your body’s inner wisdom you will explore what you need and this session will allow you to find expression on paper for your intention. Beginning a new year with a clear intention will allow you to step forward with confidence. You will also be able to share what you are exploring within our nurturing and supportive community.

In this workshop, we begin by warming the body and relaxing the mind with gentle movement and accessible writing practices. You will use the movement practice as the entry point for deep listening. Learn to listen to your body’s message and as we move gradually into stillness, as the shifting sands of your thoughts and emotions settle you will explore what emerges. This workshop is designed to enable gentle self-reflection and you will have the opportunity to write from the felt sense of your body moving. You don’t need to be an experienced writer and there will be an opportunity to draw or colour if you find this more accessible than using words.  We will conclude the workshop with an extended relaxation to enable you to consolidate what you have explored and begin the first week of the new year refreshed.

Wear loose, comfortable and warm yoga clothes. Bring something comfortable to sit on, a blanket and a pillow and something to write with.  We will begin with a short writing exercise, so please feel free to come with a soothing cup of something warm to drink.

Expect to:

  • Develop accessible, go-to journaling techniques
  • Flow slowly with a combination of gentle yoga and qigong
  • Connect and share if comfortable with your online community
  • Take time for self-reflection
  • Develop breathing exercises to tap into your inner wisdom
