Most of the time, we live with humility and modesty because, frankly, we keep getting various iterations of our lives wrong.
Since many of our circumstances force us to be humble, I’m reminded of the Thomas Edison quote, ‘I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.’
So what happens when we do hap upon something that seems to be working for the moment? Let’s celebrate it! Because life is brief and tomorrow isn’t promised.
Maybe you’re doing the Handstand Challenge – did that feel like a success on the days you ‘achieved’ the pose? And on the days you didn’t reach what you thought was the goal, did you find other, maybe more useful learnings? I hope this week you will take a moment to ponder your personal definition of success.
Are the asana poses tools to help you achieve health, or another vehicle for your ego? What is happiness? How do you measure it? What role does recognition play? And what does ‘Success’ mean to you? Plenty of food for thought!
You may wonder, what on earth has this got to do with Conscious Movement and Breathing for Health and Happiness. Well, I think this is absolutely pivotal to movement, yoga and breathing, which are all about finding that inner point of stillness where you can find your own version of happiness and success.
