Rest, Reconnection and Restoration
Join us for an evening of deep rest and relaxation with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. Uma is one of the world’s leading yoga nidra teachers, is a teacher of teachers, and is a pioneer in women’s health, women’s power and yoga.
In this class we’ll explore profound, nourishing, supportive and gentle movement and yoga nidra; the radical act of collective rest.
Modern life can be overwhelming and it can be hard to take the time to truly rest and reconnect with ourselves. Yoga nidra is a unique practice that lies somewhere between guided relaxation, meditation and visualisation, and it is professed that 30 minutes of nidra is akin to two hours of sleep. It allows the body to enter a deep state of relaxation from where we can re-encounter the essential truth of who we really are, experience deep freedom, and come home to ourselves.
“Yoga nidra is one of the most vital forms of twenty-first century medicine and spiritual practice.”
Uma Dinsmore-Tuli
Reduced stress and better sleep are amongst the immediate benefits experienced and reported by practitioners of yoga nidra, but it is also a tool for resetting our understanding of yoga as a liberatory tool for freedom, justice and planetary healing.
This workshop with Uma is a co-creative Total Yoga Nidra experience with mudra and mantra, followed by an exploration of yoga as a tool for liberation. This will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions of Uma.
You can expect:
- Yoga nidra and gentle movement to settle the body and mind
- To experience deep, restorative rest and freedom
- Reconnection with yourself and an exploration of your inner truth
- A Q&A with Uma to find out more about this powerful, life-changing practice.
This workshop is suitable for all bodies and abilities, especially those looking to reduce stress, sleep better and reconnect with themselves.
Uma has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and runs retreats and training courses around the world. Uma is co-founder of the Yoga Nidra Network and has developed Total Yoga Nidra, Wild Nidra and Nidra Shakti: radical creative and intuitive approaches to sharing yoga nidra.
Yoga Nidra Made Easy is Uma’s latest book and you can preorder it here.
