Live Online Yoga Retreat: Bringing in the Light

Friday 18th – Saturday 19th March 2022

We are thrilled to announce our March Equinox 2022 live online mini yoga retreat, with a portion of proceeds going to support the people of Ukraine.

This online mini-retreat brings the transformational experience of a yoga retreat and supportive community into your own home. Retreat in the comfort of your own home and venture within, in order to step out and shine brightly on the day of the Equinox and beyond.

Our home retreat is held over the potent Equinox and full moon weekend in March in order to harness the earths’ energies, so that with the power of the moon, and the changing of the seasons, we can move, as a collective, into the light. We will be creating a sense of freedom and consciously releasing what we no longer need in order to move lightly into the lightest months of the year.

At this time of year, nature is telling us that there is no more holding back. That we are prepared and we are ready. We are ready to bloom, to shine and be the light that we see around us, for ourselves and for each other.

But the practice of doing that can sometimes be difficult. We can consciously practice to let go of the things that are holding us back. Our bodies can hold stresses and tensions, memories and traumas, and these things can stop us from expressing the true light in ourselves. Yoga and meditation can really help us to find that freedom.

This mini-retreat will help us all step forth with a sense of lightness, and harness the power of collective energy and support.

What to expect

This retreat will encourage us all to actively connect with each other, to strengthen each other’s power, to see each other and be seen for who we really are, which is light. We shall encourage each other, as a community, to step into the light fearlessly and courageously. We will learn to be bold and take small steps to let go of everything that is holding us back, in order to shine brightly for ourselves and each other.

You can expect:

  • Two days of live world-class yoga, meditation and breath work classes from Lucy McCarthy
  • special lunchtime Q&A session on Saturday – ask Lucy questions about the practices she has shared and the themes for the weekend
  • Access to our closed community group with all our teachers and fellow Movers to offer you guidance and support
  • A warm, friendly experience with time for you to connect with your inner truth
  • A weekend of learning and support to equip you with the tools to reset and move forward with freedom and lightness

The Teachers

Lucy McCarthy teaches mindful, alignment based Vinyasa flow and hopes to impart some of the ease of mind, body and breath that yoga gives her everyday. Lucy will be leading all the sessions in this retreat.

Kat Farrants is the founder of MFML and she will be binding the retreat family together by hosting the discussions and supporting you all in sharing opinions and experiences.

The Daily Schedule

All sessions will be hosted live on Zoom and are suitable for all abilities; you are welcome to join no matter which stage what of your yoga practice you are at. We recommend you take the whole weekend off as if you were away on retreat! Spend time in nature, read books, journal, relax, book in a massage or bodywork session and eat nourishing foods.

If you cannot attend a session, don’t worry, we will record the sessions and they will all be available for 14-days after the retreat for you to enjoy.

It’s a shame the closed community is on Facebook, some of us refuse to sacrifice our privacy to that horrible company!

I do understand. And I’m really sorry that we’re using Facebook. It’s just because they have squillions of dollars to create a platform, which loads of people are on, which we can use for free. As a small business who doesn’t have the resources to create our own, it’s not a great choice, I do understand, but it does have what we need for our community. So sorry, and I really do understand your hesitancy in using the platform, i just hope you understand our reasons for doing so.

I do understand that it is difficult for a small business and there is a need to rely on other technology platforms. It is even harder when your audience is probably mostly using Facebook anyway and not aware of any alternatives.

However, I’d suggest that using Facebook is unethical given their contribution to mental health issues, spread of hate, invasion of privacy, etc. Especially as they do so knowingly. For me it doesn’t sit well with the yamas of ahimsa, satya or even asteya (given they steal people’s privacy).

I don’t think there is an easy answer though. There are alternatives but not as well know or as easy/familiar as Facebook. And not without their own issues either.
