Moving to boost your immune function | Kat’s Movement Mission

It’s that time of year here in the UK. It seems to me that so many folks around me are really suffering with colds and the flu.

Urgh, poor things. Of course there’s nothing to make us appreciate good health more than when we’re feeling under the weather, and sometimes when we’re down with a nasty cold that seems to just go on and on, life can feel pretty miserable.

Which is why this is a great time of year for being really aware of the gift of good health, being grateful for it, but also doing everything that’s easy to do to keep us that way!

I have written a blog post on the 6 methods that I use to keep colds at bay when all around us seem to be coming down with some lurgy or another. But if you don’t have time to give it a read, the answer is – sleep well, especially at this time of year.  It’s so important to give back to yourself and let your body fight nasties and properly rest and recover by sleeping properly. Do our Sleep Challenge if you’re in need of a proper night’s kip and read my blog on why sleep is so important.

Of course don’t let your yoga practice slip, and did you know that we have a selection of classes specifically created for increasing your immunity? Check out our Winter Wellness Selection if you haven’t already. Fabulous Mimi Kuo-Deemer has filmed classes specifically to help with your immunity during the winter months, and our wonderful Kate Walker has a class for when you’re suffering from cold and flu.

And of course another wonder thing to do at this time of year, which I’m pleased to report that 200 of you are already doing right now, is the Yin Yoga Challenge. Wooohooo, how thrilling is that!

It’s not too late to start the Yin Challenge, in fact, now is a great time to start to Yin to look within. If you’d like to join in the 200 folks who are Yin-ing right now, just join up here and join our Facebook Movers Page to get your dose of support and inspiration as you move through your winter Yin practice.

And do check out our Founder Kat’s Facebook Fabulousness on how she’s finding the Yin Challenge
