Finding Vitality: Qigong and Yoga for Energy

We are so chuffed to be working with Senior teacher, Sifu Matthew Cohen. He’s a life-long yoga, qigong and martial arts practitioner from California who has a truly beautiful practice and way of integrating yoga, qigong and martial arts to explore how we can access our own innate power. With his classes, we can develop our energetic awareness and strengthen our emotional resilience.

This workshop is a combination of yoga, qigong and martial arts workshop suitable for all bodies and all people. This workshop will work on tapping into our natural energy supply, to increase our energy levels and our felt sense of power. We will work with feeling and expressing energy through both focused movement, intention and stillness.

Sacred Energy Arts (SEA) is a multidisciplinary approach to health and self development, inspired by Qigong, yoga, & martial arts and taught by Matthew Cohen.


What to expect: 

  • A beautiful practice which is an integration of qigong, yoga and martial arts.
  • Tools to increase energy levels and manage stress and anxiety
  • Tools to enhance our creativity and learn how to cultivate more joy every day. 
  • An exploration of breathing practices that can be used to develop resilience, focus and inner strength. 
  • As in Qigong, this method is practised slowly, the exercises are circular and soft and there will be a variety of standing, sitting and moving practices. 

What you will learn: 

  • How to use these practices and the power of intention to cultivate and express your own energy
  • How to implement and use a practice in your daily routine
  • How to use your mind as an ally. 
  • How changing your intent changes your reality.

Walk away with more access to your natural life energy, and with daily practices that encourage our natural brightness to shine through.


Who is it for:

This workshop is for everyone and anyone, with all levels of experience.

It is especially recommended for people who would like to have more energy and vitality all through life. For people who are at stages and ages of life where getting up in the morning and making it all the way through the day feels a challenge.

If you are interested in learning more about having a stable, balanced energy moment to moment and day to day, then this workshop can help you on your journey!


About Matthew Cohen: 

At the age of 5 Matthew found his brother Scott’s yoga book and from that moment on, something inside him awakened – He was on a journey of self discovery. Later, at age 12, Matthew started a lifelong love affair with Martial Arts which led him into dance, qigong, shamanism and healing therapies.

Matthew has been blessed to train with true legends in each of these fields and teaching for over 40 years. His practice has allowed him to share with people from all walks of life in over 15 countries.

Matthew loves the intersection of the ancient and cutting edge, moving from the secular to the sacred, and helping people find their original medicine – what they were born to do.

Matthew’s passion is discovering how to cultivate and regulate more energy so we can all live a more authentic life.

We will be offering a on-demand playback of the workshop for 14 days afterwards, so you don’t have to miss out!

Cost

We know that some of you are facing some real cost-dilemmas and we know that sometimes our wellbeing practices are the first to suffer when life gets hard.

We want you to know that we are there for you.

Therefore, we are trialing a ‘Pay As You Can’ for our MFML workshops.

There is a suggested price, which we ask you to pay, if you have the means. The suggested price is the ‘true cost’ of running the workshop, and this is £30.

If finances might get in the way of you joining, you can pay what you can afford, and therefore you are still able to join. This is the Buddhist system of Dana. The minimum that we can accept is £5, because like you, we are also struggling at these times. 

Those of you do have the means, please do feel free to pay more than the suggested price. We want so much to continue to support you for years to come with online workshops and community gatherings. However, we can only do that if we continue to have your support through tougher times.

Practising safely

The live online workshops are for your education and your enjoyment only. You are participating in the live classes at your own risk. You are encouraged to to take breaks when needed and/or when in doubt, don’t do sequences that you are even a little concerned about. If you have any health condition, please seek medical advice before taking any form of exercise. If you have any concerns, please let us know before the workshop starts.

If you feel unwell in any way or if you experience any discomfort during class, please stop the class and consult your health practitioner immediately. Remember that yoga is mostly a journey off the mat and into life, and it is a journey about taking responsibility for our own actions and cultivating self-knowledge. Only choose exercises which will nurture and support you, and please take responsibility for yourself and your current abilities during your practice. Remember that each day is different, and even if yesterday you were able to perform a movement, that is no indicator that the same exercise is possible today. Please move within your comfortable limits and if you’re in any doubt whatsoever, please seek medical advice.
