Gentle Yoga to Nourish and Support Series: (1) Breathe and Move

Gentle Yoga to Nourish and Support Series: (2) Rooting to Rise

In Chinese, there is a saying ‘gen shen di gu’, which means when the roots and deep the foundations are strong. From Moving with the Breath, we shift the focus to rooting firmly down in the earth and allowing our bodies to rise from this firm root up toward the sky. We will practice some more dynamic standing poses after an initial warm-up we practiced in class #1 to feel this connection more fully in our body.

Play the Game: Joint Articulation

This free movement exploration class is a really playful way to learn to articulate your joints. So often our joints can be stiff, and this class will help you to move within your own range of motion, but using really fun, playful moves. Dan demonstrates one way of playing with joint articulation, and this is a tool which you can use to express your own movements, in your own time, as he gives ideas for ways to move, rather than demonstrating what you can do right here right now. His demonstration may be more mobile than many of our own movements can be, just check out this fun tutorial and get some ideas for ways you can play with keeping your own joints mobile. Begin (again) 7: Day of Rest

When you're having a day off, it's great to have a more restful yoga class. Today's gentle yoga class is for when you've been stressed out or overwhelmed and when you need some rest. A very simple, gentle yoga class with some neck and shoulder stretches and a lovely, long yogic relaxation in savasana (not guided). You'll need a brick, block or bolster to sit comfortably. For beginners or refreshers.
Everybody Flows: Refine The Shapes

As a follow-up to ‘Make the Shapes,’ this short practice will help you refine your understanding of down dog and standing poses with a few alignment cues to help your poses feel more sustainable and interesting. Be a Warrior Not a Worrier!

An alignment focused Hatha class based at the wall for standing poses, including the warrior poses. This class uses the wall, two yoga bricks and a strap to make sure that your standing poses are perfectly alighted for your body. The wall is used to give us information as to our alignment. This class is an invaluable tool for checking your standing pose alignment.
Spinal Health: Somatic Flow

This mostly somatic class with yoga is for everyone and for any time of the day. It's perfect to get you set up for the day, with a focus on gentle movements to keep your spine healthy. Class starts with gentle somatic movements to sense the spine, which brings attention into tracing the pathway of the spine and its key movements which underpin spinal health and ease. Class then continues with flows through yoga movements drawing out the primary postural patterns of: flexion, extension, lateral, elongation, rotation and neutral spine. A class to add to your daily practice list for all-round back care and health!

Everybody Flows: You Need Savasana

This class is perhaps the most important of yoga poses. Savasana, resting pose. This class will allow you to enter into, prop, and experience savasana, the final relaxation posture. After a short cool-down you will learn a few ways to prop savasana and will be offered some guidance into easing your mind into rest. Once set, we will stay together for fifteen minutes. You will need a couple blankets, a bolster or cushion, an eye-bag or a soft washcloth.

Gentle Yoga to Nourish and Support Series: (4) The Yin/Yang Balance

With this class we take the ideas of rooting and feeling our body aligned between the skies above and earth below into a more full balance of yin and yang. This session will build a combination of strength and softness in the arms and hands and upper and lower body. Start Your Day The Yin Way
