Vidya Heisel

Vidya has studied, practiced and taught yoga since 1975. She has trained in Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini, Iyengar and Forrest Yoga.

Vidya teaches a creative and intelligent alignment based flow that weaves together these varied styles of yoga.

Vidya founded Frog Lotus Yoga Studio in Massachusetts, 14 years ago. In 2011 she opened Suryalila Retreat Centre in southern Spain, where she currently teaches and resides.

As Director of Frog Lotus Yoga International, Vidya has led over 70 intensive 200 & 500 hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Trainings in beautiful locations across the globe and at her beautiful home base Suryalila Yoga Retreat Centre in Spain.

In addition to directing YTT programs, Vidya teaches at Festivals and runs retreats and Yoga holidays.

Vidya founded Suryalila Retreat Centre with grand ambitions and created the largest yoga practice space in Europe. She talks to Kat about how she is educating the local farming community to change their intensive farming practices to use less water and reverse what seems as the inexorable march of desert through the whole of Southern Europe.
